Things I have realized.
Tonight I went to my old high school’s graduation. I attended with 2 friends from last year, one of them being my former best friend (a spot now reserved for the love of my life). Over spring break while visiting her, I realized how much we’ve both changed. Our weekend ended in a fight and we hadn’t talked until last week. Bygones were made bygones and we moved on. Tonight I came to the realization that we’re so different at this point it seems we can’t be best friends again. She’s become self-absorbed and concerned primarily with drinking and the men’s beds that follow after. It’s almost unbearable for me to talk to her as I can’t relate. I can’t deny that I don’t enjoy the occasional drink, but it’s not what consumes my life. I’ve realized there are much more important things.
At this point in my life, I want to be surrounded by people who are down to earth and gorgeous on not only the outside, but inside. Everyday, I re-learn that personality is what’s most important about a person. Choose your friends wisely.
